According to Troop B of the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP ), a 52 year-old Dunnellon man died as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Ocala (Marion County), Florida on Friday afternoon, August 21, 2020, at 5:23 pm. A press release stated that the man was driving a pickup truck, traveling west on Marion County Road 328, at Meadow Wood Dr., and failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle began overturning, and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck. The driver was transported to an area hospital, but was later pronounced deceased. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. Citing Marsy's law as the reason, the FHP no longer release the names of passengers or the specific models of vehicles in its press releases.
