US 19 construction has reached a milestone in Citrus County, Florida, with southbound traffic shifted to new pavement in the area from W. Fort Island Trail to south of W. Venable Street in Crystal River, Florida.

Traffic is now in the final alignment, with a median separating northbound and southbound travell lanes of US 19, throughout the project area from S. Jump Court in Homosassa, Florida to W. Fort Island Trail in Crystal River, a distance of 4.7 miles.

US 19 still has two northbound and and two southbound lanes of travel in the project area, with a third lane of travel in each direction expected to open in early 2024.

On the south end of the project, in Homosassa, traffic is currently reduced, around-the-clock, to a single lane - from approximately S. Jump Court to W. Highland Street.

This project began in November 2018 and is expected to be completed in spring of 2024, at a cost of $52.9 million.

Drivers are asked to remain alert and cautious throughout the entire project area.
