FHP seeking info. regarding hit and run crash that killed pedestrian on US 441 in Gainesville

At 3:35 am on Sunday morning, October 1, 2023, a pedestrian - a 26 year-old man from Floral City, Florida - was run over by a vehicle while walking on or near the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 441, just south of SW 104th Avenue, south of Gainesville, Florida, in Alachua County.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries as a result of this crash.
The vehicle that ran over the pedestrian fled from the scene of the incident, traveling south on U.S. Highway 441, heading toward Micanopy, Florida and Marion County.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is looking for the hit and run vehicle a dark gray, 2015 to 2020 Ford Mustang sedan, with damage to its lower right front and undercarriage.
