FHP asking for help in finding Aug. 10 hit and run driver of bicyclist in Archer, FL on US 41 near SW 139th Ave.

Alachua County, Florida - The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is seeking any information the public may have about a hit and run vehicle, or its driver, that was involved in a traffic crash that occurred in Archer, Florida (in Alachua County) on Thursday night, August 10, 2023 at 10:20 p.m. 

A 25 year-old woman from Williston, Florida was riding her bicycle, travelling south on U.S. Hwy. 41, near SW 139th Ave., in Archer, Florida - in front of the hit and run vehicle - which was also traveling south on U.S. Hwy. 41. Approximately 50 feet north of SW 139th Ave., the vehicle - an unknown make and model - struck the bicycle and it's rider, and then fled the scene. 

The hit and run vehicle may have damage to its right front, and also may have a broken passenger side mirror.

As a result of the collision, the female bicycle rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida for medical treatment.
