Bicyclist, struck by SUV at CR 345 and CR 347 in Chiefland, dies at scene of crash
Chiefland (Levy County), Florida - A 38 year-old Chiefland man was struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at 3:48 pm, Saturday afternoon, August 12, 2023, while riding a bicycle at the intersection of County Road 345 at County Road 347 (Northwest 60th Street) in Chiefland. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene of the incident, and the intersection was closed during the traffic investigation. The driver of the SUV was a 74 year-old woman from Chiefland, who was wearing a seatbelt and suffered no injuries.
