Man dies as result of single vehicle, June 29 crash in Williston, FL
A 39 year-old man from Williston, Florida died as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Williston on Thursday morning, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 am.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2011 Subaru sport utility vehicle (SUV), traveling north on US 27 Alternate, approximately one-quarter mile south of NE 158th Avenue, where the vehicle traveled into the center grass median. When the driver attempted to regain control of the vehicle, it traveled onto the east grass shoulder and began to overturn, striking a fence and a gate. While the vehicle overturned, it ejected the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver was transported to UF Health Shands hospital in Gainesville, Florida, where he was later pronounced deceased. He carried no passengers in the vehicle.
