Alachua County, Florida - A 33 year-old man from Williston, Florida died as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that Florida Highway Patrol crash investigators believe occurred on June 5, 2023 at 9:30 pm, north of Archer, Florida in Alachua County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a pickup truck, traveling south on SW County Road 241, when it drifted off the roadway, partially onto the western grass shoulder, and the driver oversteered the pickup truck to the left. The pickup traveled across the roadway and onto the eastern grass shoulder, where it struck several trees and came to rest within the tree line.
Area neighbors reported that they heard a loud noise around 9:30 pm on June 5, but the pickup truck was not discovered until after day break the next morning (June 6).
The press release stated that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
