Motorist advisory for SR 19 and SR 40 area, Ocala National Forest, Marion County, FL

A large scale wildfire, west of SR 19 and north of SR 40 in the Ocala National Forest in Marion County, Florida continues to emit smoke and may do so during the night and morning of May 17 and 18, 2023.
Due to the projected overnight weather forecast and potential mixture of residual smoke in the area, SR 19 will be closed. Motorists travelling in and around this area are reminded to reduce their speed and utilize low beam headlights in order to adapt to changing weather
conditions as visibility may deteriorate quickly.
Detour Routes for this road closure are as follows:
Northbound motorists will go west on SR 40, to north CR 314 A, to north on CR 314, to SR 19.
Southbound motorists will go south on CR 314, to south CR 314 A, to eastbound SR 40, to SR 19.
