Citrus Springs driver crashes Marion County school bus into SUV, no injuries reported
Ocala (Marion County), Florida - At 7:30 am on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, a 61 year-old woman from Citrus Springs, Florida driving a Marion County Public Schools school bus was involved in a traffic crash in Ocala at SW 80th Street and SW 75th Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the school bus was traveling south on SW 75th Avenue, approaching the intersection of SW 80th Street and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection.
The second vehicle, a sport utility vehicle (SUV), driven by a 30 year-old woman from Ocala who carried no passengers, was traveling east on SW 80th Street, approaching the intersection of SW 75th Avenue.
The press release statee that the school bus driver, who carried ten passengers, attempted to travel across SW 80th Street, violating the right of way of the SUV, and causing the right front of the school bus to strike the left front side of the SUV. After the impact, the SUV exited the roadway and struck a fence.
No injuries were reported.
