One killed, one seriously injured, in March 11, Williston, FL rollover crash
Levy County, Florida - A two-vehicle rollover crash that occurred in Williston, Florida at 7:50 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023 resulted in the death of one driver and serious injuries to the other driver. Neither of the drivers carried a passenger. The crash occurred on State Road 121 at NE 184th Court.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on State Road 121, passing multiple vehicles in a no passing zone, and as the vehicle was crossing back into the eastbound lane, it traveled into the path of a 1999 Toyota Corolla sedan that was traveling westbound on State Road 121. As a result, the front left of the pickup truck struck the front left of the sedan. The impact redirected both vehicles, and they overturned onto the north and south shoulders.
The driver of the Corolla, a 25 year-old man from Morriston, Florida, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 55 year-old man from Gainesville, Florida, was transported to UF Health Shands hospital in Gainesville with critical injuries.
According to a press release, the crash investigation is in its preliminary stages and ongoing.
