Hernando, FL man dies after crashing motorized bicycle into traffic sign
Citrus County, Florida - A 55 year-old man from Hernando, Florida died as the result of a traffic incident that occurred on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 9:00 pm. The crash occurred on E. Norvell Bryant Hwy. (County Road 486), at N. Skeeter Terrace, in Hernando, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the man was driving a motorized bicycle, traveling west on the sidewalk/bike path adjacent to County Road 486. For unknown reasons, the rider lost control of the bicycle, struck a traffic sign on the south shoulder, and suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The FHP press release stated that the man was not wearing a helmet.
