Motorcyclist from Hernando, FL dies as result of crash with SUV

Citrus County, Florida - A 50 year-old man from Hernando, Florida, who was driving a motorcycle, died as the result of a traffic crash with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) on Dec. 30, 2022 at 7:00 pm. The crash occurred on Citrus County Road 486 (W. Norvell Bryant Hwy.) in Hernando, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 75 year-old woman from Beverly Hills, Florida was driving a SUV, traveling north on N. Fatima Ave., stopped for a stop sign at the intersection of CR 486, and the motorcycle was traveling east on CR 486. The SUV attempted to make a left turn and entered into the path of the motorcycle. As a result, the motorcycle collided with the left rear of the SUV. After the impact, the motorcycle overturned and the rider was ejected. He was transported to an area hospital, but later expired from his injuries.
The driver of the SUV carried a passenger, a 80 year-old man from Beverly Hills. Neither was injured in the crash.
