Williston man critically injured, Aug. 2, rear-ending another vehicle in St. Petersburg

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 23 year-old Williston man was critically injured in a traffic crash that occurred at 1:42 am, August 2, in Pinellas County.

A press release stated that the Williston man was driving a sedan in St. Petersburg, traveling west on Gandy Blvd. approaching San Fernando Blvd. in the outside lane, behind another sedan that was also traveling west on Gandy Blvd. in the outside lane, driven a 23 year-old St. Petersburg man. the press release stated that the Williston man 's vehicle overtook the other vehicle from behind and collided with its rear.

After the impact, the Williston man's vehicle rotated and then overturned, and came to rest with the driver - who was not wearing a seatbelt -  partially ejected. 

The St. Petersburg man's vehicle rotated then came to rest with both occupants uninjuried; the other occupant was a 25 year-old Tampa woman. Each was wearing a seatbelt, the release stated.

Citing Macy's Law, the Florida Highway Patroll no longer releases the names of people and other identifying information in press releases.
