Woman issued citation for making improper turn that caused two-vehicle crash near Chiefland, FL

Levy County, Florida - The 32 year-old female driver of a 2003 Lexus sedan was issued a traffic citation by a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper, charged with making an improper turn, after a two-vehicle crash ocurred near Chiefland on September 24, 2022

No one was injuried during the crash. 

The driver of the Lexus sedan carried two passengers, both girls, ages 1 and 10, all three from Alachua, Florida

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 9:45 am on State Road 345, 175 feet south of NW 70th Ave. (Levy County Road 330).

The press release stated that the woman driving the Lexus sedan was traveling south on State Road 345 when she drove off the roadway onto the west grass shoulder to make a u-turn, and re-entered the roadway into the path of a 2013 Dodge Caravan van, driven by a 60 year-old woman from Chiefland, Florida, that was also traveling south on State Road 345. The front of the Lexus sedan struck the right front of the Dodge Caravan, near the centerline of the roadway.
