Brooksville pedestrian, struck by truck driven by Homosassa man, dies at hospital
Brooksville (Hernando County), Florida - A 72 year-old female pedestrian from Brooksville died as the result of being struck by a pickup truck while walking in Brooksville on Thursday night, September 15, 2022, at 8:25 pm.
According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, a 73 year-old man from Homosassa, Florida was driving a pickup truck, traveling north on East Jefferson Street (U.S. Highway 98) when it collided with the pedestrian, who was walking in an easterly direction across the intersection of East Jefferson Street with Asmara Street.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where she expired from injuries suffered during the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was wearing a seaatbelt, was not injured in the crash.
