The female driver of a sedan was killed and her four passengers were seriously injured as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in the Marion County area of Dunnellon, Florida on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 8:30 pm.
The 27 year-old driver killed in the crash was from Homosassa, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling south on SW 180th Avenue and continued south, at the intersection of County Road 484, where the front of the sedan struck the driveway gate, several fence posts, and several trees before coming to final rest on the limerock private driveway of Cannon Farms, located at 11801 SW 180th Avenue in Dunnellon, Florida.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, at 8:47 pm, by Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) Lieutenant Larry Waldren.
The four other occupants of the vehicle were transported to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital in Ocala, Florida with serious injuries. The passengers included three females from Dunnellon, Florida, ages 18, 19 and 25, and a 22 year-old passenger from Beverly Hills, Florida whose gender was not indicated on the Florida Highway Patrol press release.
The press release also stated that none of the five occupants of the vehicle were wearing a seatbelt.
