One man dead and another seriously injured in Chiefland, FL traffic crash

Chiefland (Levy County), Florida - A 71 year old man from Bronson, Florida died and a 61 year-old man from High Springs, Florida was seriously injured as the result of a traffic crash that occurred in Chiefland at 11:30 am, Tuesday morning, September 6, 2022.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Freightliner tractor/trailer box truck, driven by the 61 year-old man from High Springs, Florida, was traveling north on Levy County Road 347, and traveled into the intersection of U.S. Highway 27 Alternate, in front of a Buick sport utility vehicle (SUV), driven by the 71 year-old Bronson man, that was traveling north on U.S. Highway 27 Alternate, which resulted in the Buick colliding into the Freightliner.

The driver of the Buick succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. No further information was available at the time of the press release.
