Ocala (Marion County), Florida - A 39 year-old man from Ocala, Florida received minor injuries when he was struck by a hit and run car in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter store, located at 9570 SW State Road 200 in Ocala on Thursday morning, August 18, 2022 at 10:42 a.m.
The hit and run vehicle is a silver colored, 2014 to 2022 model, Mazda 3 sedan driven by an unknown older male driver.
According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in a northwesterly direction in the Walmart parking lot. The Mazda sedan was traveling south in the same parking lot, and at the end of the parking row as the Mazda began to make a right turn, its left front struck the pedestrian.
After a short exchange of words the driver fled from the scene of the crash, heading in an unknown direction of travel.
This silver hit and run vehicle may have damage to its left front bumper. The vehicle also has significant damage to its left rear bumper that was already present on the vehicle from a previous crash.
Images taken inside the store and after the crash revealed the driver to be an older white male who is approximately 5 feet six inches tall, around 68 years of age or older, and he was wearing a red shirt and tan shorts at the time of the incident.
