Woman killed and man critically injured in head-on crash on SR 121 near Williston, FL
Williston (Levy County), Florida - A 49 year-old woman from Williston was killed and a 52 year-old man, also from Williston, was critically injured as the result of a two vehicle head-on collision that occurred northeast of Williston on State Road 121, one-half mile south of NE 65th Street, at 7:15 am, Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the man was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck, traveling south on State Road 121, and the woman was driving a 2021 Nissan Kicks sedan, traveling north on State Road 121. For unknown reasons, the Dodge Ram pickup truck traveled across the center line and struck the Nissan Kicks sedan head on.
After the collision, the Nisssan Kicks sedan travelled onto the east grass shoulder where it overturned and came to rest, and the Dodge Ram pickup truck overturned onto it's right side and came to rest on State Road 121.
The 52 year-old male driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesbville, Florida. while the 49 year-old female driver of the Nissan Kicks sedan was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash by Levy County Fire Rescue. According to the FHP, both drivers were wearing a seatbelt and neither carried a passenger.
