Motorcyclist from Beverly Hills seriously injured in Dunnellon construction zone crash

Dunnellon (Marion County), Florida - A traffic crash that occurred at 3:15 pm on Monday afternoon, August 1, 2022, seriously injured a motorcyclist who was traveling on County Road 40, in Dunnellon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 30 year-old male motorcyclist, from Beverly Hills, Florida, was driving a 2012 Suzuki motorcycle, travelling east on County Road 40 at a high rate of speed, as it approached a front-end loader that was working in a construction zone near County Road 40 and Ohio Street in the City of Dunnellon. The driver of the motorcycle lost control of the motorcycle, which overturned and slid in an easterly direction, then collided into the side of the front-end loader before coming to rest in the eastbound lane of County Road 40.
The front end loader came to a controlled stop on Ohio Street.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital (formerly Ocala Regional Medical Center) in Ocala, Florida.
