Inverness (Citrus County), Florida - A 40 year-old Inverness man was struck by a vehicle and suffered critical injuries while walking in Inverness on Friday, March 4, at 8:00 pm, on U.S. Hwy. 41 South, north of East Hill Street. According to the crash report, a 73 year-old woman from Inverness was driving a sedan, traveling south on U.S. Hwy. 41 South, north of East Hill Street, when the pedestrian began walking in an easterly direction across the highway and entered the path of the sedan. As a result, the vehicle collided with the pedestrian, who suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The driver of the sedan, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
