Bronson man injured when log truck overturns on CR 336 near Chiefland

At 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, a 38 year-old man, from Bronson, Florida, was seriously injured on Levy County Road 336, just south of Birds Nest Lane and north of Ellzey Church near NW 50th Ave. in Chiefland, Florida, when the 1999 Mack tractor-trailer combination rig he was driving traveled off the roadway onto the north grass shoulder and overturned onto its left side, causing the load of logs on the trailer to spill across the north shoulder. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt according to a FHP press release, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. This area of CR 336 was closed until approximately 11:00 p.m.
