Inverness, Florida - On Monday evening, January 10, at 6:44 pm, a pedestrian was struck by two vehicles and died from his injuries at the scene of the crash, which occurred in Inverness. The man who died was 45 years-old and from Elenton, Florida. According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking or standing on U. S. Highway 41, just south of S. Airport Road, about two miles south of Inverness, when he was struck by two vehicles, both sport utility vehicles (SUVs). The driver of the SUV that first struck the pedestrian was driven by a 59 year-old woman from Floral City, FL, and the driver of the second SUV was a 30 year-old woman who carried a 1 year-old girl passenger, both of Floral City. None of the passengers of the SUVs were injured, and each was wearing a seatbelt, according to the press release.
