Man killed in Dec. 23 scooter crash, S. Lewdingar Dr., Homosassa
Homosassa, Florida - A 46 year-old man from Homosassa died as the result of a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred at 6:00 pm, Dec. 23, in Homosassa. According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was operating a scooter, traveling west on S. Lewdingar Dr., west of Barbara Ln., when for unknown reason, he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and drove onto the unpaved shoulder and was ejected from the scooter. He was transported to an area hospital where he later expired from injuries suffered during the crash. The press release stated that he was not wearing a helmet.
