Status update of defaulted FDOT projects due to bankruptcy of D.A.B. Constructors of Inglis, Florida:


PROJECT T7383 - CITRUS COUNTY, FLORIDA
Widening of U.S. 19, from W. Green Acres St. to S. Jump Court, in Homosassa (2.1 miles)
    • Preliminary work (project submittals and coordination) began this week, and regular contract work is expected to begin January 3, 2022.
    • Nelson Construction is the Completion Contractor for the project.
    • The Department’s representatives are sampling and tracking turbidity readings at the Pond 4 outfall as well as sample points at the right-of-way in conjunction with T7407. This week, all the test results are meeting water quality requirements. Currently, no discharge is leaving Pond 4.

PROJECT T7388 - PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA
Widening of S.R. 54, from Curley Road to Morris Bridge Road, in Zephyrhills (4.5 miles).
    • Western Surety Company and completion contractor     
    • Cone & Graham Inc. are continuing to finalize the completion contract.   
    • Cone & Graham has submitted its erosion control plan to FDOT and Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).
    • Highway Safety Devices will be installing additional traffic detection at the Meadow Pointe Blvd. and S.R. 54 intersection
    • Department representatives continue filling potholes and maintaining traffic control devices throughout the project.

Widening of U.S. 19, from W. Jump Court in Homosassa to W. Fort Island Trail, in Crystal River (4.7 miles)

Widening of C.R. 580 (Sam Allen Road) from S.R. 39A (Paul Buchman Highway)
to Park Road in Plant City (2 miles).
