Crystal River (Citrus County), Florida - A pedestrian, a 36 year-old woman from Beverly Hills, Florida, was struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the incident, early Sunday morning, Dec. 12, at 4:30 am.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman walked into the path of the vehicle that was traveling south on U. S. Highway 19 (N. Suncoast Blvd.) north of the intersection with N. Champion Point in Crystal River.

The driver of the SUV was a 68 year-old woman from Crystal River, who carried a 79 year old male passenger, also from Crystal River. The driver and her passenger suffered minor injuries and each was wearing a seatbelt, according to a FHP press release.
