Jacksonville, FL man dies after hitting parked vehicle head-on near Archer, FL

Alachua County, Florida - A 29 year-old Jacksonville, Florida man died as the result of a traffic crash that occurred at 4:06 pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Alachua County, Florida on SW State Road 121 (SW Archer Rd.) at County Road 346A, southeast of the town of Archer, Florida.

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the Jacksonville man was driving a sedan, traveling north on SW State Road 121, approximately one-quarter mile north of County Road 346A, when it crossed the center line and traveled across the roadway onto the west shoulder, where it struck a pickup truck, head-on, that was parked on the west shoulder facing south.

The Jacksonville man was pronounced deceased at an area hospital. The press release stated that he was wearing a seatbelt.

The press release stated that the parked vehicle had three passengers inside it, the 42 year-old male driver of the parked vehicle, from Ocala, Florida, who received minor injuries, and his two passengers, a 10 year-old girl from Ocala, and an 11 year-old girl from Citrus Springs, Florida, who both suffered no injuries. The report stated that a pedestrian, a 35 year-old woman from Ocala, received minor injuries, but no further details were provided.
