Status update of defaulted FDOT projects due to bankruptcy of D.A.B. Constructors of Inglis, Florida:

PROJECT T7383 - CITRUS COUNTY
Widening of U.S. 19, from W. Green Acres St. to S. Jump Court, in Homosassa (2.1 miles)
    • The Takeover Agreement is complete and was received by the Department for execution on December 10, 2021.  A preconstruction meeting is being held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 with the completion contractor, Nelson Construction.  Preliminary work is expected to begin December 15, 2021, and regular contract work is expected to begin January 3, 2022.
    • The Department’s representatives are sampling and tracking turbidity readings at the Pond 4 outfall as well as sample points at the right-of-way in conjunction with T7407 (the widening of US 19 from Jump Court in Homosassa, FL to Fort Island Trail in Crystal River, FL). This week, all the test results are meeting water quality requirements. Currently no discharge is leaving Pond 4.

PROJECT T7445 - CITRUS COUNTY
Resurfacing of U.S. 19, from the Hernando County Line to W. Green Acres St., in Homosassa (3.8 miles)

PROJECT T7388 - PASCO COUNTY
Widening of S.R. 54, from Curley Road to Morris Bridge Road, in Zephyrhills (4.5 miles).
    • Western Surety Company and completion contractor Cone & Graham Inc. are continuing to finalize the completion contract.  Cone & Graham is putting together erosion control plan and project schedule.  They are expected to mobilize to restart work on Monday, December 20, 2021.
    • Southern Precision has continued mowing and litter removal this week.
    • Highway Safety Devices are scheduled to return to the SR 54 Meadow Pointe Blvd. intersection to improve traffic detection on Monday, December 13, 2021. 
    • Department representatives continue to maintain traffic control devices throughout the project.

PROJECT T7433 - PASCO COUNTY
Widening of S.R. 52, from Suncoast Parkway to U.S. 41, in Land O' Lakes (3.8 miles).

The Diverging Diamond Interchange ("DDI") on S.R. 56 at I-75 in Wesley Chapel.

Widening of C.R. 580 (Sam Allen Road) from S.R. 39A (Paul Buchman Highway)
to Park Road in Plant City (2 miles).
