Crystal River, Florida - A pedestrian, a 46 year-old man from Crystal River, was struck by two vehicles at 6:59 am, Thursday morning, December 9, 2021 and died on the scene of the crash, which occurred on U. S. Highway 19 (N. Suncoast Blvd.) in Crystal River.

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) was followed by a pickup truck, and both vehicles were traveling north on U.S. Highway 19, approaching SE 8th Terrace, when the pedesdtrian walked into the path of the vehicles and was struck in successive order by the SUV and the pickup truck.

None of the three passengers inside the two vehicles were injured, and each passenger was wearing a seatbelt. 

The SUV was driven by a 39 year-old Tampa, Florida man whose passenger was a 39 year-old female, also of Tampa. The driver of the pickup truck was a 70 year-old man from Crystal River who carried no pasengers.
