FDOT update of defaulted road projects for week ending Nov. 12, 2021

District 7, West Central Florida: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties


PROJECT T7383 - CITRUS COUNTY
Widening of U.S. 19, from W. Green Acres St. to S. Jump Court, in Homosassa (2.1 miles)


• It is anticipated the prospective completion contractor (Nelson Construction) will have an executed completion contract with the Surety by November 19.  Once this agreement is signed, it is expected work will begin within one week.
• The Department’s representatives are sampling and tracking turbidity readings at the Pond 4 outfall as well as sample points at the right-of-way in conjunction with T7407 (widening of U.S. 19, 4.7 miles from W. Jump Court in Homosassa to W. Fort Island Trail, in Crystal River).  This week all the test results are meeting water quality requirements.
• The FDOT Traffic Operations is looking into reprogramming traffic signal controllers to incorporate flashing yellow for left turn signals to address public concerns.

PROJECT T7407 - CITRUS COUNTY
Widening of U.S. 19, from W. Jump Court in Homosassa to W. Fort Island Trail, in Crystal River (4.7 miles)


• The prospective completion contractor (PCS Civil) received a completion contract from the Surety on November 9.  The agreement is now with the PCS for their execution.  Once this agreement is signed, it is expected work will begin within one week. 
• A Pre-Construction meeting was held on 11/09/2021 with PCS Civil.
• The Department has made a significant number of improvements to address water quality on the project:
    * The desilting treatment tank system at Pond C, installed by the Department’s Contamination and Remediation Contractor (CAR), is continuing to function and clean water is being discharged.
    * The Surety’s maintenance contractor (SMG) is continuing to maintain existing erosion control features as necessary.
    * The Surety’s maintenance contractor (SMG) has completed desilting the median ditch bottom inlets and pipes to aid in preventing further siltation at Pond C.
• The Surety’s maintenance contractor (SMG) is continuing to regrade median crossovers and driveways as necessary to remove potholes.

PROJECT T7445 - CITRUS COUNTY
Resurfacing of U.S. 19, from the Hernando County Line to W. Green Acres St., in Homosassa (3.8 miles)


• The prospective completion contractor (Watson Civil) received a completion contract from the Surety on November 9.  The agreement is now with Watson for their execution.  Once this agreement is signed, it is expected work (erosion control measures and survey) will begin within one week.
• Pre-Construction meeting with Watson Civil is scheduled for Thursday November 18th at 10am.
• Watson Civil has been onsite throughout the week taking inventory of all materials onsite. They met with Citrus County 11/12/2021 to discuss the salvageable water main that is stockpiled onsite.
• SMG onsite this week performing project clean up and erosion control measures.
• Vortex, a subcontractor for the Surety, is onsite desilting pipes along right roadway in areas where off-site commercial businesses had flooding issues during summer rain events.
• Level 3 to begin adjusting their fiber optic lines in conflict with the gravity walls next week.

PROJECT T7388 - PASCO COUNTY
Widening of S.R. 54, from Curley Road to Morris Bridge Road, in Zephyrhills (4.5 miles).


• The prospective completion contractor (Cone & Graham) submitted updated pricing to the Surety on November 10.  The completion contract is being prepared to be submitted to Cone & Graham for execution.  Once this agreement is signed, it is expected work will begin within one week.
• It is anticipated that Southern Precision will return next week to resume regular mowing and litter removal throughout the project.
• Maintenance contractor installed the flashing yellow beacon on the Westbound approach for Pine Crest Charter School sign and is awaiting programming. Pending installation on the remaining flashing yellow beacon for the eastbound approach. 

PROJECT T7433 - PASCO COUNTY
Widening of S.R. 52, from Suncoast Parkway to U.S. 41, in Land O' Lakes (3.8 miles).

 
• No more weekly updates, as construction has resumed.  

PROJECT T7412 - PASCO COUNTY
The Diverging Diamond Interchange ("DDI") on S.R. 56 at I-75 in Wesley Chapel.


• No more weekly updates, as construction has resumed.  

PROJECT T7402 - HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY
C.R. 580 (Sam Allen Road) from S.R. 39 to Park Road in Plant City (2 miles).
