Dump truck collides into train bridge in Dunnellon, FL, temporarily closing all lanes of SR 40

Dunnellon (Marion County), Florida - FHP troopers were on the scene of a crash, Friday afternoon, Nov. 12, at 12:00 noon, due to a dump truck crashing into a train bridge on State Road 40, near U.S. Hwy. 41, in Dunnellon. 

The driver of the truck was a 27 year-old man from Gulf Hammock, Florida. He was not injured in the crash, and he was wearing a seatbelt, accordng to a FHP press release.

Due to damage to the train bridge, all travel lanes on State Road 40 were blocked. Workers with the Florida Northern Train Company were enroute to make repairs that were expected to take about an hour to complete. Until repairs are completed, traffic was being re-routed onto SW 180th Avenue Road.
