Inglis man killed, Nov. 8, in two-vehicle crash on US 19 in Inglis

Inglis (Levy County), Florida - An Inglis, FL man was killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred on Monday, Nov. 8, at 6:24 pm, on U. S. Highway 19 at SE 140th Lane in Inglis, near the Village Pines Mobile Community & RV Campground, located at 8053 SE 140th Lane.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) press release, the 68 year-old Inglis man was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, traveling north on US 19 in the right lane, and a 37 year-old Williston, FL man was driving a 2014 Dodge 1500 pickup truck that was traveling directly behind the Inglis man's Chevrolet truck. When the Inglis man's Chevrolet truck came to an abrupt stop, in order to make a right turn onto SE 140th Lane, the front of the Williston man's Dodge truck collided with the rear of the Inglis man's Chevrolet truck.
After the two vehicles collided, the Chevrolet truck traveled in a northeasterly direction until it overturned on the east grass shoulder, and the Dodge truck veered to the left and the driver came to a controlled stop in the grass median.
The Inglis man driving the Chevrolet pickup truck was pronounced deceased, on the scene of the crash, by Levy County Fire Rescue.
The press release stated that each driver was wearing a seatbelt, and neither carried a passenger.
