On October 14, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Troop C Criminal Interdiction Unit located Nathaniel Allen Klippel, a 20 year-old Tampa, Florida man wanted for attempted murder and witness tampering, as the result of the investigation by the FHP into a September 4, 2021 incident that occurred along Interstate-75 at the 398 milepost in Alachua County, Florida.

The September 4 incident involved a traffic crash in which Klippel was a passenger inside a vehicle driven by a 20 year-old Valrico, Florida woman. Klippel and the woman were arguing, and he grabbed the steering wheel, which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in a traffic crash. Following the crash, Klippel and the driver were both transported to an area hospital where Klippel was overheard by several witnesses, attempting to coerce the victim into not reporting the incident.

A week after the incident, the victim was able to evade Klippel and contact the FHP to accurately report the incident. As a result, FHP troopers secured a warrant for Klippel’s arrest. He was arrested, Octiber 14, at 3812 West Fig Street, Tampa, Florida residence after law enforcement officers surrounded the residence and encouraged Klippel to surrender. Following his arrest, Klippel was delivered to the Hillsborough County Jail (Orient Road Jail) in Tampa.
