US 19 Widening from W. Green Acres St. to W. Jump Court

The Surety is currently evaluating prices received from two potential completion contractors. The Takeover agreement still outstanding. The Surety’s interim maintenance contractor, SMG, has completed installing sod at the Pond 4 lay down yard and entrance road.
The Department’s representatives are sampling and tracking turbidity readings at Pond 4 outfall to off right of way in conjunction with T7407 (US 19 Widening from W. Jump Court to W. Fort Island Trail in Crystal River, FL). This week, all the test results are meeting water quality requirements.

The Surety’s deadline for receiving bids was 09/23/2021 at 3:00 p.m. The Surety is still evaluating the bids and exceptions listed from bidders.
The Department has made a significant number of improvements to address water quality on the project: The desilting treatment tank system at Pond C, installed by the Department’s Contamination and Remediation Contractor (CAR), is functioning and clean water is being discharged.
The Surety’s maintenance contractor, SMG, completed installing temporary sod at Pond 4 to stabilize the slopes. SMG is working to schedule a subcontractor to desilt the median ditch bottom inlets and pipes to aid in preventing further siltation at Pond C.
The depression at STA 476+50 in the southbound outside lane has been repaired and all lanes were reopened to traffic on 10/5/2021.
The Surety’s maintenance contractor, SMG, has continued to regrade temporary median crossovers and driveways as necessary to remove potholes.
SMG is working to schedule a striping subcontractor to refresh the white pavement markings in areas of the project where they have become faded or have low reflectivity.

US 19 Resurfacing from Hernando County Line to W. Green Acres St.

The Surety has received bids from 3 perspective completion Contractors on 9/21/2021. The Surety is working on a contract with its selected completion contractor.
The Surety’s maintenance contractor, SMG, is onsite working on shallow restorations due to depressions. The depression in the SB travel lanes near Cardinal Lane was repaired with a compaction grouting operation through the District Geotechnical Contract. Shallow restoration was completed and as of 10/08/2021 the southbound, inside lane has been re-opened.
A sinkhole between S. Oakridge Dr. and W. Cyprian Ct. has northbound US 19 closed and traffic diverted onto southbound US 19 with one travel lane in each direction.
Grouting operations were completed on 10/07/2021, and shallow restoration has begun.
Surety’s maintenance contractor will begin addressing silt fence and staked turbidity barrier on Monday, 10/11/2021.
