Levy County, Florida - On Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at approximately 8:18 am, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) investigated a two vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 27 Alternate and Picnic St. in Bronson, FL.

According to a FHP press release, a 2015 Toyota Camry sedan, driven by a 24 year-old man from Bronson, FL, was traveling north on  U.S. Highway 27 Alternate, while a 1998 Volvo S90 sedan, driven by a 50 year-old woman from Bronson, FL, was traveling south on U.S. Highway 27 Alternate, in the middle turning lane. The release stated that the Volvo entered the northbound travel lane, in front of the Toyota, failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, which caused the right rear of the Volvo to strike the front of the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to the hospital with minor, non life-threatening injuries, and the driver of the Volvo was not injured, according to the release, which also stated that each driver was wearing a seatbelt and neither carried a passenger.
