Homosassa, Florida - The driver of an older model black Chevrolet pickup truck left the scene of a two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Homosassa, Florida, Friday morning, Sept. 3, at 8:00 am, before a Florida Highway Patrol trooper arrived on scene to investigate the crash. No injuries were reported to the driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash, who remained on scene.
According to the crash report, the black Chevrolet pickup truck was facing north on S. Gross Avenue, stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of West Ost-West Street. The second vehicle, a 2009 Nissan Murano utility vehicle, driven by a 49 year-old Homosassa woman, was traveling west on West Ost-West Street, approaching the intersection of S Gross Avenue. As the utility vehicle was turning left onto S. Gross Avenue, the Chevrolet pickup truck attempted to turn left onto West Ost-West Street, causing the front left side of the truck to collide with the front left side of the utility vehicle.
Neither the driver of the utility vehicle nor the witness to the crash were able to provide a description of the driver or the license plate number of the black Chevrolet pickup truck.
