Chiefland man seriously injuried when truck/trailer overturns in Putnam County

Putnam County, Florida - A 39 year-old Chiefland, Florida resident was seriously injured in a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Putnam County, Florida on Tuesday, August 17.

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a truck tractor, pulling a trailer loaded with logs, traveling east on State Road 100, just east of Putnam County Road 315. As the vehicle was negotiating a left turn in the roadway, at 3:16 pm, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and it overturned onto its right side. As the vehicle overturned, the load of logs separated from the trailer and rolled into a private yard. 

The truck came to final rest, facing east on its right side, obstructing the eastbound lane of State Road 100. The eastbound and westbound lanes of State Road 100 were closed for clean up until 6:20 p.m.
