Levy County (East Williston), Florida - A two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred on Saturday, June 19, resulted in serious injuries to one driver and two passengers of the vehicles, and minor injuries to the other driver. The crash occcurred at 4:50 pm on County Road 335, at the intersection of County Road 241, in East Williston, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2013 Fiat 500, driven by a 22 year-old man from Williston, was traveling east on CR 335 and failed to stop at the intersection of CR 241, and struck the right side of a 2011 Ford Fiesta, driven by a 22 year-old woman from Gainesville, Florida that was traveling on CR 241, passing the intersection of CR 335. After the impact, both vehicles traveled onto the south shoulder of CR 335, east of CR-241, and the Ford Fiesta SUV overturned onto its right side.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta SUV and her 22 year-old male passenger, also of Gainesville, along with the passenger of the Fiat 500 sedan, a 19 year-old man from Chiefland, Florida, were transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injures. The driver of the Fiat 500 sedan suffered minor injuries.
According to the FHP, each of the four passengers was wearing a seatbelt.
