FHP Troopers are requesting that the operator of a tow truck - who likely witnessed an April 25, 2021 fatal traffic crash - to contact the FHP at 813-558-1800 and speak with Corporal Stavro. The tow truck operator was observed at the scene of the incident and may be helpful in the investigation of this incident.

At 9:20 pm on April 25, a 29 year-old Crystal River man was struck by two vehicles and suffered fatal injuries on Citrus County Road 488 (W. Dunnellon Road) at N. Springvale Terrace in Dunnellon, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling east on CR 488, west of N. Springvale Terrace, and struck the pedestrian who was lying on the roadway. A sedan following behind the pickup truck also struck the pedestrian and failed to stop or remain at the scene of the crash.

The occupants of the pickup truck were described as a 35 year old man, a 30 year-old woman, a 6 year-old boy and a 4 year-old girl, all from Morriston, Florida. None of the passengers was injured and each was wearing a seatbelt. 

The driver of the sedan had not been identified at the time of the press release.
