Levy County, Florida - A traffic crash that occurred on June 10, 2021, at 4:40 am, resulted in the death of a pedestrian. The crash occurred north of the City of Chiefland, on County Road 341, 1000 feet south of County Road 346A.

Due to Marsy's Law, Florida's victim protection law, the pedestrian was identifed only as a 32 year old black male from Trenton, Florida. His next of kin has been notified.

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was lying in the roadway in the northbound lane of County Road 341, when two vehicles, both traveling north on County Road 341, struck him. The first vehicle was a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by a 28 year-old man from Chiefland, Florida, and the second vehicle was a 2012 Nissan Altima sedan, driven by a 32 yar-old man from Trenton, Florida. 

The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash. Neither of the drivers was injuried.

The investigation into the crash s ongoing and in the preliminary stage.
