A  two-vehicle traffic crash in Citrus Springs, Florida at 4:50 pm on Monday afternoon. May 24, resulted in only minor injuries to the drivers, who were the single occupants of the vehicles involved in the crash. Each driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a 92 year-old Citrus Springs man was driving a van, traveling south on US 41 (N. Florida Ave.), approaching W. Withlacoochee Trail, and failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway. He collided with the guardrail on the west shoulder of the highway, which redirected the van so that it entered the northbound lanes of US 41 and into the path of a pickup truck transporting a boat on a trailer, traveling north on US 41, driven by a 37 year-old Dunnellon man. The front left side of the van collided with the left side of the truck. The impact caused the trailer and boat to overturn along the shoulder and northbound lanes, while the van came to rest in the southbound lane.
