Inverness man killed in CR 488, Dunnellon motorcycle crash, May 16
Dunnellon (Citrus County), Florida - A 46 year-old Inverness man was killed as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Dunnellon, Florida on Sunday, May 16. The crash occurred at 9:45 pm, as the man was driving a motorcycle, traveling eastbound on West Dunnellon Road (County Road 488), approaching West Riverbend Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, and the motorcycle departed from the roadway. It first collided with a utility pole, then a detached garage structure, located at 5203 West Dunnellon Road. The driver, whose name was not released, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. According to the press release, he carried no passenger and was not wearing a helmet.
