Levy County, Florida - On Friday morning, March 19, at 7:15 am, a school bus was involved in a traffic crash in the Chiefland, Florida area, but none of the thirty-one students on board were injuried nor was the driver, a 68 year-old man from Ocala, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a white sedan was traveling east on County Road 346A, behind the Levy County school bus, which was traveling in the same direction, and as the school bus approached the intersection with NW 70th Ave., the driver realized he'd driven past a location where he was supposed to pick up a student.
The press release stated that the school bus driver began to back up the bus, to pick up the student, and the rear of the school bus struck the front of the white sedan, and the driver of the white sedan then fled the scene of the crash.
At this time, law enforcement does not know the identity or condition of the driver of the white sedan or the damages to the vehicle.
