Sierra Club to host Virtual & Phone panel on M-CORES Tollroads: Wed., Dec. 9, 7:00 pm

Join Cris Costello, Sierra Club Senior Organizer; Eugene Kelly-Outings, member and chairman of the Florida Native Plant Society; and Chairman Bob Howell for a panel discussion on the proposed state tollroads on Wednesday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m. EST

The Florida legislature approved construction of three new mega highways throughout rural Florida.  The draft state task force report concluded that no need had been identified for the new roads, recommended existing highways be expanded instead, and asked the legislature to either extend or remove the deadline of December 31, 2022 to begin construction. The Sierra Club commissioned a study showing they are financially unviable.  Others recommended that a final analysis be done before beginning project development. The project is widely opposed by the public.
