Fun online activities offered by Citrus County Parks and Recreation!
Citrus County, Florida - A lot of activity occurred during the summer and fall with Citrus County Parks and Recreation. The Division just wrapped up several successful weeks of online art camp for middle school students, and it occurred to staff members, that the sky’s the limit with virtual programming!
“We had a blast with our Virtual Camp Color Rush for budding artists this summer,” said Recreation Program Specialist Andrea Cuccaro, and we thought, we can do a lot more with this forum, so we are!”
Upcoming new programming includes Virtual Trivia Nights and Virtual Open Mic Nights, which will be hosted on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 6:30 pm, excluding holidays.
“We hosted live online trivia as part of our camps for kids this summer, and had tons of fun," said Ms. Cuccara, "And we want to offer this program for the greater community. We know we have some trivia fanatics out there!”
“Our virtual Open Mic Night is an extension of our live Open Mic Night, which was held on the last Wednesday of every month, at Central Ridge Community Center,” said Manny Coimbre, Sports and Events Coordinator of the Division. “We’re keeping the event on the final Wednesday of the month, and we’ve got an emcee to host performers, over video chat, for an audience who wants to hear live music from local talent in Citrus County. And honestly, the performers are really great!”
Virtual Open Mic Night will be hosted on the final Wednesday of each month between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm.
