The “Weekly Qigong Practice Group with Gina” will hold its first session on Friday, August 7, from 11:00 a.m. to noon, at the Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast Wings Grief Center, 8471 W. Periwinkle Lane (gold building on right) in Homosassa Springs. Sessions will continue each Friday after that at the same time and location. Anyone not familiar with Qigong (pronounced Chee Gong) is invited to attend an optional “Introduction to Qigong” presentation at the Wings Grief Center on Friday, July 31, from 11:00 a.m. to noon. According to Qigong Certified Practice Group Leader Jeanne “Gina” White, who will conduct these sessions, “Qigong is an ancient Chinese art form of meditative and expressive movements for relaxation, improved balance, health and energy.”               Emphasizing that Qigong can be suitable for everyone, including people who are not athletic or who may have some limits to mobility, White says, “All are welcome to attend the Qigong group sessions at Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Discover and feel the benefits of Qigong physically, emotionally and spiritually!” All Qigong sessions will observe CDC guidelines for safety and gatherings; since space therefore may be limited, be sure to reserve your seat in advance by contacting Grief Services Manager Susan Quenelle at 352-249-1470. Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast is a charitable organization providing community grief support workshops for anyone who has experienced a loss; telephone support; grief support resources for all ages; educational materials for parents and teachers; and children’s grief support camps. For details about this and other programs or for ways you can help, call 352-249-1470 or visit www.friendsofcitrus.org or Friends of Citrus on Facebook.
