Meet Your Trail event in Inverness, Oct. 3
Inverness, Florida - Bring the whole family to The Depot, located at 218 N. Apopka Ave. in Inverness for a FREE fun, healthy morning celebrating the Withlacoochee State Trail, on Sunday, October 3.
Go for a ride, walk, run or skate between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm, get a free hotdog lunch between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, enjoy live music by Strutt, and get freebies at The Depot. Volunteers from the Friends of the Withlacoochee State Trail (WST) will be on hand to answer all of your questions about YOUR trail! For more information on how to get to the WST, visit FOTWST.org.
This is a public event for all ages, with no registration required. Entry is free, but donations are appreciated, as all proceeds will go directly to support amenities and improvements to the trail. Past investments by the Friends of the WST (formerly Rails to Trails of the Withlacoochee) include building picnic shelters and benches, refurbishing the iconic caboose and creating the mural in Inverness, funding the new restroom in Floral City, patching the aging asphalt on miles of trail, and much more.
This event is for those who regularly use the Withlacoochee State Trail, and those who have never been on the 46-mile long rail-trail, connecting Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco Counties. It’s a great opportunity to “Meet Your Trail.”
Masks are advised regardless of your Covid vaccination status, and social distancing will be observed.
