StoryWalk ® Citrus presented at two local festivals
The Citrus County Library System debuted its newest project, StoryWalk ® Citrus, an interactive reading walk that kids can participate in with their families, at two recent festivals held in March. The family-friendly StoryWalk activity was well-received by festival goers, as well as with those who presented the activity!
The first StoryWalk was presented in Floral City on March 6 and 7 at the Floral City Strawberry Festival. The story was “The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear,” which was paired with a Disguise Your Strawberry activity.
For the Florida Manatee Festival, held in Crystal River on March 27 and 28, the StoryWalk story was “Over in a River: Flowing Out to the Sea,” which was paired with a matching activity for kids to enjoy at home.
The StoryWalk® project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
