On August 27, 2025, 62 year-old Shawn Orr of Archer, Florida entered an open plea to Levy County (Florida) Circuit Judge William Davis, who sentenced Orr to serve 30 years in the Florida Department of Corrections for the September 8, 2024 murder of his wife, Eloida Davis.

On September 8, 2024, Orr called the Levy County 911 Telecommunications Bureau to report that he had found his wife, Eloida Davis, deceased. When emergency units arrived at Orr's residence, Orr directed them to a wooded area along a secondary driveway to their home where her body was located.

Orr quickly became the person of interest in his wife’s death, due to evidence that revealed Orr and his wife had a violent, abusive relationship.

The LCSO Criminal Investigations Division team pursued leads and evidence indicating that Orr and his wife had been involved in a violent physical altercation inside their home during the night before Orr had contacted 911. Broken furniture and blood evidence was recovered from the home, debunking Orr’s statement that his wife had walked away from the home, uninjured, the previous night when their altercation had occurred.

Orr claimed to detectives, that during his efforts to locate his wife after she had allegedly left the home after the altercation, he had accidentally ran his vehicle over her while he was turning it around. According to a Levy Count Sheriff's Office press release, it appeared that Orr had intentionally ran over his wife's remains to conceal the injuries he'd inflicted upon her.

Detective Ryan Sullivan placed Orr under arrest, charged with homicide - negligent manslaughter by means other than a motor vehicle. Orr had remained in custody since his arrest on September 8, 2024.
