In September 2022, during an investigation of a large-scale cocaine trafficking operation, Citrus County Sheriff's Office detectives were notified by federal law enforcement partners of packages containing illicit narcotics being mailed to a property in Citrus County. Working with the United States Postal Service and the Department of Homeland Security, Citrus County Sheriff's Office detectives intercepted packages containing numerous kilos of cocaine being sent to an address located on S. Kensington Ave. in Lecanto. After narcotics detectives conducted additional surveillance, they secured a search warrant for the property.
During the execution of the search warrant, officials located about 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds) of cocaine, 6 firearms, a narcotics ledger, weight scales, drug packaging equipment, $7,951 in cash, and a money counter.
Two other people were arrested as a result of this investigation: 38 year-old Felix Abdiel Pintado Bernard, and 32 year-old Jennifer Medina Lozada, also from Lecanto, when the search warrant was served at two separate addresses on a five-acre property on S. Kensington Ave. in Lecanto.
Over the six-months duration of this investigation, a total of 8.98 kilograms (19.8 pounds) of cocaine was seized from his drug organization.
